She senses the worth of her work,
is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She’s skilled in the crafts of home and hearth,
diligent in homemaking.
~Proverbs 31:18-19 (MSG)
Thank you for stopping by A Graceful Home! We are so thankful you’ve come to visit us!
I just love this version of these verses. It’s one of the hardest lessons that seems to constantly be a theme in my life! The words “senses the worth of her work,” and “diligent in homemaking” make me stand a little taller. There is wisdom in valuing the heart of the home, embracing our nurturing femininity. In a society that continues to devalue life, hearth, and home, there seems to be an attitude of intolerance, disdain, and downright hostile towards moms (and some dads) who choose to stay home and nurture their families first. I guess that’s why these verses are refreshing. There’s value in stay-at-home-mommydom. And, it’s OK to be confident in our work at home, in the way we make a house a home.
On a practical level, and as a way for me to embrace the worth of my work and honing my skills is my Etsy shop. You’ll find really cute vintage (*ahem* probably a few Mason jars!), re-made, re-purposed items that I believe will help lend a neat atmosphere to your home. From the practical to just for pretty’s sake! Check it out frequently to see what’s new! The plan is to add new things pretty regularly!
Whether you choose to shop my Etsy store or not, I hope you find inspiration for growing your home up in grace, and embracing this part of your home. It doesn’t have to be elaborate to be beautiful!
